01 / DEVELOPMENT
A clear handover makes a better manufacturing brief.
Define responsibilities
Confirm what Shaaira will supply and what your team will provide. Include formulation work, component sourcing, filling, packing, documentation and artwork approval in the scope.
Agree the commercial baseline
Request a quote against a specific formula direction, pack and quantity. Record exclusions and any separate testing or component charges so quotes can be compared meaningfully.
Control changes after approval
Keep a signed sample and versioned artwork. Revisit the quotation and timeline when the formula, packaging, quantity or claims change rather than treating the original approval as universal.
02 / PRODUCT DIRECTION
Choose a starting point.
These are directions to discuss—not fixed recipes or a promise that every requested combination is available. The final specification follows technical and commercial review.
- Private-label development
- Custom product briefs
- Multi-SKU range planning
03 / PREPARE YOUR BRIEF
A more useful first conversation.
You do not need a finished formula to get started. Bring your priorities, reference products and the decisions you still need help making.
- Product and SKU list
- Formula ownership or development needs
- Packaging responsibilities
- Quantity, budget and target schedule
Before you approve production
Confirm the formula, finished quantity, packaging, artwork, testing scope and delivery plan in writing. Keep the approved sample as the reference for your order.
See the manufacturing process04 / COMMON QUESTIONS
Details before decisions.
What is the MOQ for contract cosmetics?
The starting MOQ is 500–1000 pc per SKU. Confirm the exact quantity against your formula, component availability and packaging requirements in the quotation. Custom components may have separate minimums.
Is contract manufacturing the same as buying ready stock?
Not necessarily. A contract project has an agreed scope, specifications and approval process. Ask what is already available and what needs development before comparing lead times or prices.
What should I have ready before requesting a quote?
Share product and sku list, formula ownership or development needs, packaging responsibilities, quantity, budget and target schedule. Include the number of SKUs and your intended order quantity. An incomplete brief can be discussed, but the quote needs agreed specifications.
When can production start?
Production timing is confirmed after the formulation, packaging, artwork and agreed testing scope are approved. A sampling target is not a guaranteed production or delivery date.
